PLAGA at [gone] Mexico

November 12th, 2014. New York City

"The [gone] project brings together a range of photographic projects that respond to the in situ experience of Anastasia Fugger and Carolina Pimenta.

Taking as the starting point an old friendship and a shared passion for travel and photography, Anastasia Fugger and Carolina Pimenta’s [gone] MEXICO project offers a distinct way of exploring a location through a unique collaboration of two lenses .

After an extended trip roaming through Mexico, the two photographers captured breathtaking images with an acute sense of perception and humor. Fusing both photographic eyes in the same place at the same time results in a rich and compelling group of work, blurring the line between travel photography and fine art.

The images showing distinct scenes of Mexican culture, are elegantly displayed in duos/couples, sharing a common reflection of experience.

[gone] MEXICO is the beginning of the [gone] project series, a long term project whereby Carolina Pimenta and Anastasia Fugger will travel the world to capture a unique perspective of seemingly known grounds."
